Ordinary Culture aims to:

  • Facilitate and commission contemporary visual arts exhibitions, events and publications led by research into the cultural, geographical and political histories of specific places.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary curatorial projects that aim to include and engage audiences whose exposure to contemporary art practices and activities is often limited, exploring the potential of art to engage marginalised or underprivileged communities.
  • Explore the links between rural and metropolitan practices as well as those between contemporary art practice and other, non art-related cultural disciplines.
  •  Embrace and promote art production as a useful and productive activity that is open, engaging and relevant ‘not for the discerning few, but for the many’.
